Writing Wall Template - Zentangles

Zentangles

Here are some instructions:
1. Give each child an A4 sheet of paper, get them to fold in half, then divide their page into sections (either ruled or free-hand).
2. Look at the patterns on the handout, or watch the youtube clip, then practise with their pen, filling in one section at a time with a pattern

After practise:
1. In pencil, draw name using bold bubble writing, then go over in pen
2. divide background into sections (either ruled squares or free hand)
3. start zentangling

teaching points:
1. When doing lettering for name, press very lightly with pencil so mistakes can be easily rubbed out
2. Press lightly with black pen, otherwise nib will break off
3. Shapes that are being coloured in in black need to be completely coloured in, no white bits left uncoloured
4. mix up patterns to have a good balance of dark/black, and white spaces/patterns
5. Take your time and enjoy the relaxing process - make it quality
6. When finished, they might want to make the section lines and lines of their lettering bolder/thicker to really stand out

Here are a few good clips to put on while their doodling:
